A look at KABAROLE DISTRICT in Western Uganda
Today we look at Kabarole District which is located in the Western region of Uganda 300 km away from Kampala (Uganda's capital city). Kabarole district has an estimated population of 318,216 (Census 2014) and a population growth rate of 2.3 per annum. The District lies at an altitude of 1300-3800 meters above sea level. It borders with Bunyangabu in the south, Kamwenge in South East, Kyenjojo in the East, Bundibugyo and Ntoroko in the Northwest and Kibaale in the North east. The District has good climate with temperatures ranging from 20°C to 30°C and rainfall ranging from 1,200mm – 1,500 mm per annum. The District has cool temperatures averaging between 22°-25°C and has a bimodal rainfall, ranging from 1200mm – 1500mm per annum. The district has three distinct agro-ecological zones i.e. North-eastern zone, the Middle zone and the Highland (Mountain) zone.
